Nature hikes in Lincoln County and adjacent areas offer a stunning mix of lush coastal rainforests, dramatic ocean headlands, and hidden waterfalls.
Here are a few favorite places to scout out native plants. Where available, plant lists are provided. .
Most of the walks are less than 4 miles over reasonably flat terrain. Exceptions are noted in the description.

Lincoln County Locations
Mike Miller Park
15 SE 50th St, Newport, OR 97365
The Trail is set within a 45-acre coastal forest, with towering Sitka spruce, western hemlock, native shrubs and ferns. There is a section of old growth forest.
Distance: ~1mile
Terrain: Dirt paths with an intricate, uneven web of tree roots, small wooden bridges, and brief inclines.
South Beach State Park
A gentle stroll to spot coastal plants and birds. Perfect for wildlife viewing. Take the S. Jetty Trail to explore sandy areas or the Cooper Trail for a tree and shrub experience.
S. Beaver Creek
A nature stroll at S. Beaver Creek to spot unique plants and birds. You can spot more than 200 different species throughout the year.
