Filling your garden with native plants creates a thriving sanctuary for local birds and pollinators while restoring our precious natural habitats. When you choose local species, you are actively participating in habitat restoration and stewardship.

Plant Sources

We are not a commercial nursery. Many of our plants are grown by NPSO volunteers using locally sourced seeds, cuttings or divisions. We grow plants to make them available to our community at affordable prices. We sometimes purchase additional plants from wholesale nurseries to fill gaps in our inventory. All proceeds are used to fund NPSO activities and programs.

How Our Store Works

You order your plants and pre-pay online. You have the choice to pick up your plants at one of 2 locations: The Newport Public Library or the NPSO Demo Garden at Hatfield Marine Science Center. You will choose your pickup location and time when ordering.

Plant Sales

We offer 2 in person plant sales each year in April and October. Your can pre-order your plants for the 30 days prior to the plant sale date.
